Let us break bread together -- there are some amazing benefits

Do you eat at least one meal per day with your kids? What about your teenagers? Did you know there are not only emotional and social benefits for teens who dine with their parents, but there are physical perks as well?

Dining together... it's not an old-fashioned concept!

According to a study published in the Canadian Journal of Cardiology, teenagers who share a meal with a family member or two six or seven times each week have a lower BMI (body mass index) than their peers who dine alone. The study also showed that families who dined together overall had lower blood pressure and cholesterol.

  1. I love this post! My boys and I eat together daily. When we are lucky my husband doesn't get home too late and then we are all together. But usually he doesn't get home til 8 pm which is too late for the four of us.

    1. Good for you, Elizabeth! You and your boys will reap these benefits for years to come. And hopefully your husband will be able to squeeze in more dinners with you as well. Thanks for taking the time to comment.
