Review It Wednesday -- Vive Health

When I was contacted by a representative at Vive Health regarding a review of their products, I didn't hesitate to say yes. After all, my husband was having shoulder pain and I was having the dreaded bunion pain that seems to accompany aging for those of us who wore out our high heeled shoes when we were young. Oh, the pain!

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post. I received product and/or compensation in exchange for my honest review.

Let's start with the Envelop bunion guards. I opened the package and immediately liked the squishiness of the high-grade silicone. The bunion on my left foot wasn't acting up at the time, but my ingrown toenail on my right foot was. So I slipped the guard onto my big toe, immediately alleviating the friction with the affected toenail on the second toe. Ahhh. I tried walking around barefoot while wearing the guard, but it kept slipping around under my foot. Shoes did fit nicely over it, however, and it stayed in place. I also found that sleeping with the guards on helps my feet to have less pain in the morning, so that's what I'm doing.

My biggest problem with my feet is that my big toes are longer than my second toes, which means they often overlap. That causes the ingrown toenails. And, if you've never had this problem, believe me when I say it's quite painful. The guards are designed specifically for this problem.

They're resistant to sweat and liquid, so they don't get all gross after being worn all day. But you still will want to clean them from time to time. That can be done with a simple wipe down.

Now let's move on to the Vive Universal Shoulder Brace. The brace is made of neoprene, which is lightweight and breathable. However, my husband did not find it to be as comfortable as he would have liked it to be. It didn't feel good directly against his skin, so he wears it over a t-shirt. It does fasten securely, so it remains tight throughout the day or night while it's being worn. The compression from the brace supports injured muscles and helps protect against re-injury. For that reason alone, my husband continues to wear it. The tightness can be adjusted for comfort.

Lastly, I also received the Vive Precision Blood Pressure Monitor, which I love. My husband has a different brand BP monitor that often does not work for me. I tend to have low blood pressure and depending on how low it is, his monitor just quits on me and gives me an error message. The only time it works for me is when I have a spike in pressure.

That's not the case with the Vive Precisions BP Monitor, which gives me a reading each and every time. And it does so much more quickly than the other one. According to the Vive website, the monitor is "rigorously tested for guaranteed accuracy, and has a built in alarm function to alert you of irregular heartbeats." I like that it features a two-user functionality and a measurement memory for both of us. The cuff fits arms 8.75" - 16.5" comfortably. And the LCD display screen is easy to read.

I find the products on the Vive Health website to be reasonably priced, which is an added bonus. The bunion guards come in a package of two for $9.99. The shoulder brace is $19.99 and the blood pressure monitor is $29.99. Plus there is FREE 2-Day Shipping!
