Some Canadian goodness

More and more companies are "talking green" these days. Why? Because even if they're not attuned to environmental causes, they are in tune with the ever growing environmental movement. That movement translates to consumer dollars . . . enough consumer dollars to shift the tide.

Is that a good thing? I'm not sure, because in many cases it simply involves some game playing on the part of the companies and corporations who are trying to seduce the green-minded customer into shopping with or banking with or vacationing with them. You get the picture. Green washing has become so popular that we really have to be careful who we trust in this matter.

But that's not to say there aren't companies out there that really do want to make a difference. Companies like TD Group Financial Services who have launched an honest-to-greenness environmental organization in Canada called TD Friends of the Environment Foundation. The purpose of the foundation is to help environmental causes come to life by working with passionate Canadians who are committed to protecting the environment. Yes. That's the kind of company we're looking for. It's not just about pretty words and enviro-talk. It's about action.

I love how this financial group get others involved by raising money through environmental donations.Through these donations and the countless hours of volunteer work, TD Friends of the Environment Foundation has supported more than 22,000 environmental initiatives across Canada. Like I said, they're not just talking the talk; they're walking the walk.

I appreciate it more and more when I discover companies that are making a difference. TD Group Financial Services is one such company. If you're in Canada, check them out. And let me know if this group has aided you, or someone you know, in your efforts to make Canada a greener place to live.

Just sharing some thoughts,
